CPD is the acronym for “Continuing Professional Development”.
Accreditation is defined as:
“The fact of being officially recognised, accepted, or approved of, or the act of officially recognising, accepting, or approving of something”.
Whilst based in the UK, the CPD Standards accreditation operates internationally and meets the CPD requirements and expectations for all professional bodies, regulators and membership organisations across the globe. This means that a professional attending an accredited CPD training activity, outside of the UK, can receive a CPD Certificate of Attendance, which can then be used towards their national CPD requirements.
Due to the research undertaken by the CPD Standards Research Project with various professional bodies and regulators the accreditation is recognised and respected internationally. Formal CPD Standards certificates are issued and accepted in a multitude of countries and across all professional sectors, and many of the international accredited providers report positive benefits from utilising a British, research led accreditation.
As a trained professional you will receive further professional support and advise should you need one.

INTA has official recognition as an accredited Provider with the CPD Standards Office.
INTA has been approved to deliver CPDSO courses within healthcare with CPD gained hours towards the training. Each individual who completes a CPD accredited learning activity may request a formal CPDSO Certificate of Attendance which can be included within a formal CPD record for a professional institute, regulator or employer.
CPDSO courses are globally recognised, which makes this training very desirable as this will add huge value to the existing qualification that professionals have already obtained.
With CPDSO as part of your continuous professional development programme, will give you a peace of mind in delivering the CPDSO approved treatments, as they go through a vigorous assessment and standardisation process which guarantees a full compliance within the healthcare regulation prior approval.
Employees and members of professional bodies, institutes or regulators are often expected to attain a certain number of CPD points or hours per year. They need them in order to maintain their chartered status or their license to practice.
Each professional body, institute, regulator or employer sets in place a CPD policy. The number of points or hours can vary significantly from profession to profession and sector to sector.
CPD points or hours are an integral part of what are termed ‘input based’ CPD schemes and can also be known as CPD Credits or CPD merits
CPDSO training courses are available for professionals who hold Level 3 RQF or NVQ regulated qualifications or above, including Podiatrists, FHPs, Chiropodists and various other professionals.
The proof of qualifications will be requested prior attending the courses.
Please get in touch with us if you would like to obtain Level 3 RQF Diploma for the Foot Health Practitioner qualification.
Qualifications are individual achievements, often following a structured educational pathway, culminating in exams or coursework. They demonstrate an individual’s learned skills and knowledge, and in the UK, they align with the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).RQF qualifications are recognised in many countries and are mapped against the local qualification framework.
Accreditations, on the other hand, are more about recognising the quality and standard of a learning activity or organisation.
They aren’t tied to the national educational system, but are endorsed by authoritative body The CPD Standards Office.
The CPDSO follow with certificate of awarded CPD hours that are required by the regulators and employers as well as career progression.
Accreditation adds a layer of trust and quality assurance, while qualifications demonstrate a structured and comprehensive learning journey that is aligned to the national standard for a profession. At INTA we offer both, regulated qualifications and accredited training.
The CPD Standards Office exclusively partners with iCPD to offer accredited CPD training, coaching and online education to the Institute’s members.
